Juan "Rick" Ibarra, 29, Avid Basketball Fan

Born on July 27, 1971 in Lorain, Ohio, he has resided in Columbus for the past 10 years. Rick was an avid basketball fan and enjoyed both playing and watching the sport.

He is survived by his parents: Juan Ibarra and Sylvia Encalado, both of Lorain, 2 brothers: Miguel and Israel Ibarra, both of Lorain; and 3 sisters: Mandy Hodge, Sara Ibarra, and Connie Mata, all of Lorain; maternal grandfather Delores Encalado, of Laredo, Texas; paternal grandmother Mrs. Lopez, of Del Rio, Texas; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Maria Carrion in September of 1978.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 5, 2000 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held Monday, November 6, 2000 at 8:45 a.m. followed by 9:30 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William Thaden, pastor will officiate.
