Julia N. Bresak, 85, St. Joseph Hospital Volunteer

Julia N. Bresak, (nee Krasnobrucky), age 85, of Sheffield Lake, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 28, 1915 in Braddock, PA, moving to this area in 1926. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1933.

She served with the US Navy in the WAVES stateside during World War II.

She was employed by Ted Jacobs Style Center, in Lorain, as a bookkeeper from 1970 - 1978. She also worked at the voting booth in Sheffield Lake for 20 years. She volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years and started the snack bar and gift shop at St. Joseph, where she also bought all inventory for the gift shop. She served three terms as president of the volunteers there.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Sheffield Lake, and the V.F.W. Post 8686 of Sheffield Lake.

She is survived by her brothers: Michael Krase, of Lorain, and John Krasnobrucky, of Elyria, sisters: Mary Krasnobrucky, of Lorain and Irene Krase, of San Clemente, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years: Anthony J. in February, 1993.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2000, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. Stephen L. Shields, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
