Hedric Milks, 82, Member of Amherst Church of Nazarene

Hedric Milks, 82, (nee Hoover) of Lorain died on Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center West in Lorain, OH after a brief illness.

Mrs. Milks was born on August 3, 1918 in Glendale, AR and has lived in Lorain since 1947. She was a member of the Amherst Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed spending time with her family and watching Cleveland Indian Baseball.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Therman Franklin Milks, daughters, Jean DiFilippo, of Elyria, Rose Benesh of Canton, GA, sons, Herron F. Milks of Amherst, OH, Joe Milks of Oberlin, OH, Jim Milks of Wakeman, OH, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sister: Glovina Bulter of Toledo, OH.

Mrs. Milks was preceded in death by sons: Mikel and Ron Milks, parents: John and Liza (nee Smith) Hoover, sisters: Marilyn Hoover and Johnnie Mae Morrison.

Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence and Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Saturday, November 4, 2000 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. Locally, services will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Rick Henry, pastor of the Amherst Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Additional visitation and funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at the Griffin Funeral Home, South Jefferson Street, Star City, AR from noon till service time at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. James DiFilippo, Mrs. Milks' son-in-law will officiate. Burial will be in the Hefflin Cemetery in Star City, AR.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 43099 North Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035-1051.
