Mardelle Mead, 87, Teacher
Mardelle L. Mead - - 87 of Westlake, passed away, Monday, November 13th at the Holly Hill Nursing Home, Newbury, OH following a lengthy illness (complications of strokes). Mrs. Mead was born June 16, 1913 in Peru, OH and had lived in Lakewood, Avon Lake for 20 years and Westlake for 20.
Mrs. Mead had worked for a time as a teacher. She had attended Mount Union and was a received her Teaching Certificate from Bowling Green University in 1938. She was a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta, Sorority and enjoyed
spending time with her family. Other interests included bowling, dancing, boating, fishing and travel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred F., who died in 1987, after 50 years of marriage. Survivors include 3 daughters, Susan Fullam of Lake Forest, CA. Barbara Nowak of Dallas, TX and Sally Neidus of Gates Mills,
OH, 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Besides her husband Mrs. Mead is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Beatrice Collier, Kathryn Shutts Blanche Davis and her parents, Theodore and Lucille (nee Smith) Lamm.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 5:30-8:30pm, Thursday, November 16th.
All services will be at the funeral home, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Westlake. Memorials may be forwarded to the Charity of the donor's choice.
