Juanita Elkins-Burner, 51, Enjoyed Crafts

Juanita Elkins-Burner, (nee Hamilton) age 51, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at Mt. Carmel Hospital East in Columbus, Ohio following a sudden illness.

Born on Feb. 7, 1949 in Martin, Kentucky, she has lived all of her adult life in Lorain. She graduated from Firelands High School, Elyria, in 1968.

She was a member of Praise and Worship Church in Elyria, where she was very active. She enjoyed doing crafts and collecting dolls and angels.

She is survived by her son, David Burner, Sr., of Lorain; 4 grandchildren; 1 brother, Allard Hamilton, of Lorain; 4 sisters, Faye Humphries, of Lorain, Sylvia Ruckel, Lorraine Harris, both of Columbus, and Barbara Jones, of Jamestown, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Draxie Mae (nee Mitchell) Hamilton; sister, June Holt and 2 brothers, Jack and Danny Hamilton.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2000 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor James Monday of Praise and Worship Church in Elyria and Pastor Howard Carroll of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
