Dorothy Wilcox, 93, Homemaker
Dorothy H. Wolcox, 93, (nee Hill) formerly of Lorain died on Saturday morning, November 25, 2000 at Kendal at Oberlin in Oberlin, Ohio.Mrs. Wilcox was born on October 18, 1907 in Worchester, MA and lived in Lorain for 58 years. She held a Bachelor of Science Degree in home economics from Margaret Morrison Carnegie Institute of Technology now Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She had been employed in the home service department of Columbia Gas in Pittsburgh, PA, taught school at Oliver H. Perry School in Euclid but was most recently a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lorain, a member of the American Association of University Women, Sorosis, Wimodaughsis, and American Association of University Women Book Group #1.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her two daughters, Anne W. Bocker, of Molalla, Oregon and Janet W. Nichols, of Ludlow, MA and 4 grandchildren and two nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd P. Wilcox in 1977 and her parents, Fred Ballard and Louis (nee Vernam) Hill an done sister: Florence H. Lawler.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stephens Care Center at Kendal at Oberlin with Rev. Dr. David Wheeler officiating.
Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
