Lela B. Bussey, 88, Enjoyed Gardening
Lela B. Bussey (nee Brown), 88, of Oberlin died Sunday, November 26, 2000 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin after a lengthy illness.She was born December 3, 1911 in Webster County, West Virginia and had resided in Collins since 1990 moving from Sutton, West Virginia.
Mrs. Bussey worked in domestic housekeeping service in the Sutton, West Virginia area before retiring.
She was a member of Long Run Baptist Church, Herald Route, West Virginia. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Anna Green of Collins and Flora Beissinger of Oberlin, 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; 2 sisters, Glenna Smith of Cowlen, West Virginia and Mabel Locke of Ohio; 3 brothers, Roy Brown of Cowlen, West Virginia, Kenna Brow, West Virginia and Oren Brown of Newark, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bussey in 1985; 4 sons, Charles H., Aubrey, Denzil, and Gerald; a daughter, Juanita Bussey; 2 sisters, Myrtle and Rosie; 1 brother, John.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 28, 2000 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, and on Thursday, November 30th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Green-Robertson Funeral Home, 600 Riverview Drive, Sutton, West Virginia. The Rev. Robey Godfrey, pastor of the Long Run Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Cutlip Cemetery, Gassaway, West Virginia.
