Nilsa Toro, 55, Day Care Provider

Nilsa Toro, (nee Flores), age 55, of Lorain, died on Monday, November 27, 2000 at her residence, while under the care of New Life Hospice, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on October 4, 1945 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, living in this area most of her life.

She attended Admiral King High School, graduating in 1963.

She was self-employed as a day care provider for the past 11 years. Prior to that she worked for Lorain County Human Services and also at Joseph & Feiss, as a seamstress for 12 years.

She was a member of Templo Emmanuel Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Society.

She enjoyed sewing, traveling and children.

She is survived by her mother: Carmen Flores (nee Caraballo), of Lorain, sons: Anthony L. DeChoudens, of Vermilion, Angel E. Toro, Jr. of Lorain and daughter: Carmen Marie Toro of Cincinnati, OH, 4 grandchildren, brothers: Gasper Flores, Jr., and German Flores, both of Pinellis Park, FL, sisters: Mrs. Mariam Flores Mounts, Mrs. Matilda Lamberty, both of Lorain and Mrs. Margarita Rodriguez of Valley Stream, NY.

She was preceded in death by her father: Gasper M. Flores in 1993.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2000 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Templo Emmanuel Church, 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the church. The Rev. Daniel Reyes, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is in charge of the arrangements.
