Carlota Figueroa, 81, Loved Animals

Carlota Figueroa, 81, of Lorain, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000 at Manor Care Nursing Home in North Olmsted, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico on Feb. 16, 1919, she lived in Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York for many years before coming to Lorain in 1987.

While living in New York, she worked for the A.P. Brush Company where she had assembled paint brushes for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.

She enjoyed cooking and loved animals.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jesus, of Lorain, a son, Enrique Perea, of Brooklyn, NY. 3 grandchildren, brothers, Victor Perea, of Manhattan, NY, Ruben Martinez, of Chicago, Ill., and Paca Perea, of Queens, NY, a sister, Consuelo Martinez, of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Aida Perea, in 1980, and
brothers, Pepe Martinez, and Juan Martinez.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 4th, from 2-4 p.m. in the
Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday,
Dec. 5th, at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred
Heart Chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
