Sandra Lynn Cobb, 63, Missionary

Sandra Lynn Cobb, 63, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Specialty Hospital in Lorain after a 1 year illness.

Born May 10, 1937 in Kershaw, South Carolina, she was a Vermilion resident since 1988 moving from Cincinnati.

She was a missionary and an administrative assistant for the North Coast Baptist Association for over 10 years.

She studied organ at Anderson College and Southern Seminary. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she was an organist for 10 years. She had been a Sunday School Teacher and worked with young women in many churches. She was invited to play the organ at national conferences at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly and Glorita Baptist Assembly. She enjoyed reading and was an avid sender of greeting cards.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Dr. Charles F. Cobb of Vermilion to whom she had been married 45 years; sons, Charles A. "Andy" Cobb of Rutherfordton, NC and John Mark Cobb of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a daughter, Marianne Gee of Rutherfordton, NC; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Jean Guest, Spartanbur, SC, Mary Ann Rains-Olin, Charleston, SC and brother, David Lowery, Spartanburg, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Lowery and her parents Reverend E.B. and Velma (nee Parker) Lowery.

Friends may call Monday from 2:00-4:00 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion and from 7:00 p.m. to the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion. The Reverend Guy Morton, pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Crowe's Mortuary, US 74 By Pass at Central High Hill, Rutherfordton, NC and 7:00 p.m. until the time of service at 8:30 p.m. at Adaville Baptist Church, Spindale, North Carolina. The R3everend James Daves, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be Thursday in the Adaville Church Cemetery.
