Astrid E. Kleinhans, 73, Enjoyed Knitting

Astrid E. Kleinhans (nee Schmidt), 73, died Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2000 at Community Health Care Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 22, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident since 1967, moving from Westlake.

She worked for her father's shop, Bill's Barber and Beauty Shop for 10 years after college.

She attended Messiah Lutheran Church in Fairview Park. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, pets of all kinds and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jack; daughter, Lisa Trevathan of Avon Lake; 2 sons, William Kleinhans of Vermilion and Jack R. Jr. of League City, TX; Step daughters, Diane McClaine of Sheffield Lake, and Christine Stanfield of Amherst; 8 Grandchildren; 5 Step Grandchildren; 1 Step Great Grandchild; sister, Roselyn Johans of Strongsville, Ohio and brother, William Schmidt, Jr. of Spotsyvania, VA. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Kleinhans and her parents, William and Caroline Schmidt.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2000 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend David Johnson, pastor of Church of the Nazarene in Vermilion officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
