Oral E. McKinney, 70, Sheet Metal Worker

Oral E. McKinney, age 70, of Lorain died on Saturday, December 9, 2000 at Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyria following a long illness.

Mr. McKinney was born on March 24, 1930 in Point Pleasant, WV and lived in the Lorain area for the past 35 years.

He was retired in 1984 from the Lorain Shipyard as a sheet metal worker after 25 years service. He enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife: Elsie V. (nee Edwards) McKinney, to whom he was married on July 31, 1948, three sons: Edgar R. McKinney of Elyria, OH, Wilson W. McKinney of Lorain, Michael A. McKinney of Columbus, OH, two daughters: Rita D. Wallen of Warsaw, Indiana, Belinda K. Grace of Youngstown, OH, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two brothers: Alphia W. McKinney of Point Pleasant, WV, Russell O. McKinney of Crown City, OH, two sisters: Evelyn Nowlin of Point Pleasant, WV and Mazine West of Warren, OH.

Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents: George W. and Lydia A. (nee Shinn) McKinney, two brothers: Murjel McKinney and Richard L. McKinney.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH 44052. Rev. James McKenzie, pastor of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church will officiate.

There will be no calling hours and burial will be at a later date in the family cemetery in WV.
