Andrea G. Aguilar, 90, Avid Vegetable and Flower Gardener
Andrea G. Aguilar (nee Garcia), 90, of Sheffield Township died Saturday, December 23, 2000 in Community Health Partners, Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born Feb 4, 1910 in Villa De Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico. She came to Lorain in 1925. Mrs. Aguilar worked as a Housekeeper and Cook for Sacred Heart Chapel rectory, Lorain for 10 years, retiring in 1970.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener.
Among the survivors are her daughters Josephine, "Jody" Garcia of Sheffield Village, Tomasa "Mickey" (Salvador) Silva, and Arminia "Ne-ne" (Sam) Sandoval both of Lorain. A sister Inocencia Rojas of Pacidena, TX. 17 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Manuel Silva in 1930 and her second husband Julio Aguilar in 1964. A son William Aguilar, daughters Cruse Romero, and Margaret Torrero, brother Brigido Garcia, sisters Virginia Garcia and Antonia Salaz, Grandsons Salvador Silva, Jr. and Paul Romero.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 27, 2000 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2000 with Closing Prayers in the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM in the Sacred Heart Chapel 4310 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. The Rev William A. Thaden, Pastor, Officiating. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
