William Wallace Kincaid Smith, 80, WW II Veteran

William Wallace Kincaid Smith, 80, of Lorain died on Saturday evening, December 23, 2000 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain following a long illness.

Mr. Smith was born on February 5, 1920 in Oshkosh, WI moving to Lorain in 1965.

He was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lorain.

He received a Bachelors degree in elementary education, a Masters in Elementary education and was credited with 72 hours advanced education in school administration. He was a 5th grade teacher in the Lorain Public Schools at Lincoln Elementary School and then was a principal at the Elizabeth Wilcox Elementary School in North Ridgeville.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #30, Kiwianis, All Nations Club and the Lorain Education Association.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Susan J. Smith of FL, Sons: Rev. Ronald K. Smith of Amherst, Lawrence Q. Smith of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Verda J (nee Quinette) Smith, parents: Larue F. and Nina (nee Kincaid) Smith, brothers, Larue Smith Jr., Richard and Oliver.

Friends may call the Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 5th Street, Lorain on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 from 11:00 a.m. till service time.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at Noon with Rev. Evelyn Bonnell, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

William Wallace Kincaid Smith will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Youngstown, OH on Wednesday December 27, 2000 at 2:30 p.m.
