Offutt R. Hoff, 86, WW II Veteran

Offutt R. Hoff, 86, died on Sunday, December 24, 2000 at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center W in Lorain following a brief illness.

He was born on December 29, 1913 in Cumberland, MD moving to Lorain as a small child.

Mr. Hoff was a noted professional boxer. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II. He retired from the Lake Terminal Railroad as a brakeman and conductor. He was a member of the Louis Proy Post of the Disabled American Veterans and the AARP.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Evelyn (nee Morris) Hoff, daughters: Evelyn J. Hoff of Lorain, Diana Likwartz of Wyoming, sons: David and Ross Hoff both of Vermilion, William Hoff of Lorain and Richard Hoff Sr. of Missouri, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and his sister Erma Vaira of Lorain.

Mr. Hoff is preceded in death by his parents: Emanuel and Bertha (nee Cunningham) Hoff, daughter Barbara Hoff, sister: Mary Twig and his brother: Elra Hoff.

Friends may call at Schwartz Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 5th Street, Lorain, on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, with Rev. Chris Hughes, pastor of Tower Baptist Church of Lorain, officiating.

Mr. Hoff will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery in Amherst Twp. With full military honors provided by the Louis Proy Post of Disabled American Veterans
