John Joseph Horn, 84, WWII Veteran
John Joseph Horn, 84, of Elyria, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at his residence following a brief illness.Mr. Horn was born in July 8, 1916 in McKeesport, PA, coming to Elyria 17 years ago.
He had been employed as a field engineer for Munroe and Sons, in Pittsburgh, PA, a company which tore down and built steel mills.
Memberships include the Veterans of Foreign War, and the All Nations Club in Lorain.
Survivors include his companion, Marilyn Farmer, 3 sons: Terrence Horn of Rocky River, Lanney Horn of Scarvor, of PA and Norrie Horn of FL, 2 daughters: Beverly Hoadley of Vermilion and Sharon Grantham of Elyria, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, 4 sisters: Hilda Krznaric, Ruth Horn and Marie Willard all of McKeesport, PA and Elsie Shively of Dradosburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie (nee Nemecek) Horn, a daughter Sandra Richards, and 1 grandson, Kirk Grantham III.
Friends may call at Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain on Friday, December 29, 2000 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. on December 29, 2000 in the funeral home with the Rev. James McKenzie, Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, Lorain officiating.
