Jerry Branham, 77, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness.Born November 11, 1923 in Floyd County, Kentucky, and has been a Vermilion resident since 1951.
He worked in the construction business for 42 years. He had worked for Falbo Construction, Ackers Construction, Dandrea Nardini Construction, George McDaniel Construction, Andy's Excavating Co, Jakmas Plumbing and Heating, Independence Excavating and Ed Smitek, Inc.
He was a member of the Vermilion Church of Christ, the AFLCIO Labor Union and he enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita "Jackie" Branham (nee Ward) to whom he was married 49 years; a daughter, Mary Mosley of Vermilion; 5 sons, Michael, Gregory and Freddy Branham, Vermilion, Jeffery of Elkhorn City, Kentucky and Teddy Branham of Lorain; 15 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Rosso of Sheffield Lake and Draxie England of Pike County, Kentucky; 2 brothers, Freeman Branham, Floyd County, Kentucky and Clyde Branham of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by 3 sons, Eddie, Mitchell and Ray; sisters, Delphia Carroll, Lexie Akers, Ethel Falbo and Ollie King and a brother, Shadrick Hall and his parents, Oliver and Mary Frances Sword Branham.
Friends may call Friday, January 5, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2001 at 11 a.m. Mr. Linro Mead, pastor of the Vermilion Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
