Julia E. Wiech, 97 (nee Herner) of Lorain died on Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst, OH following a long illness.Mrs. Wiech was born on June 1, 1903 in Monroeville, OH and has resided in the Lorain area for the last 60 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain, the Alter Guild and former president of the Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Wiech worked as an operator for the former Elyria Telephone Company, most recently she was a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, flowers and knitting.
Mrs. Wiech is survived by her daughter, Juanita J Carner of Lorain, her sons: Allen Wiech of Lorain, Larry Wiech of Elida, OH, and Richard Wiech of Lodi, CA, 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and her brother William Herner of Bellevue, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Werner Wiech in 1972, one grandson: Paul Wiech, parents: John and Katie (nee Brinker) Herner, sister: Mildred Kuss and brother: Ralph Herner.
Friends may call at the Zion Lutheran Church, Tuesday, January 09, 2001 from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Kevin Saylor, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery, Amherst Twp., OH.
