Teresa "Robin" Smith, 42, Train Conductor
Teresa "Robin" Smith (nee Adkins), 42, of Vermilion died suddenly Wednesday morning in Chicago from injuries sustained from a train accident.She was born on August 6, 1958 in Hamlin, West Virginia and has been a life long resident of Vermilion.
She was a train conductor working for CSX Transport for over one year and had worked for Lake Terminal Railroad for 10 years.
She was a 1976 graduate of Vermilion High School, where she was a majorette and she was an Alumni Majorette. She attended Bowling Green University Firelands Campus.
She had a passion for sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Smith, whom she married on December 30, 1990; a daughter, Leigh Smith and son, Philip Smith both at home; parents, James and Betty Jo Adkins of Vermilion; sister, Jeannie Holbrook of Vermilion; a brother, Joe Adkins of Vermilion and her Aunts, Erma Kay Adkins of Vermilion and Daisy Brumfield of Pittsboro, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home, with the Reverend Guy Morton, pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Vermilion.
