Philip S. Hribar, 74, Store Owner

Philip S. Hribar, age 74, of Lorain, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, at Ohio Extended Care Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Philip was born in Lorain, on May 19, 1926, and has been a resident of Lorain his entire life. He graduated from Lorain High School. He was a crane operator for Thew Shovel for 20 years, retiring in 1979. He also owned and operated Phil's BP at the corner of Routes 254 and 301.
He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church. He was involved with the Slovenian Home, Hungarian Young Men's Club, Polish American Citizen's Club, and Russo-Slav Club.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Caroline (nee Bolden) Hribar; brothers: John, Frank, Peter, and Stanley; and sisters: Rose Marie Hribar, Betty Lou Nicponski, and Theresa Charske.
Private services were held, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, handled the arrangements.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, January 28, 2001, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, 1709 E. 31st St. and Globe Ave., Lorain, with Fr. Paul Krajnik, pastor,officiating.
