Juanita "Guane" Ortiz, 81, Homemaker

She was born April 27, 1919 in Caguas, Puerto Rico She graduated from high school there. Mrs. Ortiz came to Lorain in 1948.

Mrs. Ortiz was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Where she was a Member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, music, flower gardening and cooking.

Among the survivors is her husband of 56 years Alfredo S. Ortiz a son Alfred T. Ortiz Jr. of Lorain, sisters Delores Elvira Torres of Caguas, PR. and Eufemia Torres Kobol of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Five Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter

He was preceded in death by his parents Ventura Torres Armendies and Maria Ines Arroyo, brothers Ventura, Jr., Pedro J., Roberto and Hector M.Torres, sisters Carmen Aida Torres. Blanca Lydia Torres and Lynn Paula Torres Viso.

Friends may call Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral service will be Thursday 8:45 AM with Closing Prayers in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass of the Resurrection in Sacred Heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.
With Rev. Michael Williamson, Associate Pastor of the Church of Saint Peter, Lorain. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
