Virginia M. Dobis, 77, Loved Polka Dancing
Virginia M. Dobis, (nee Klukovich), age 77, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Oak Hill Nursing Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.She was born on March 25, 1923 in Lorain, and has been a lifelong resident. She worked at Steel Stamping Company, Lorain, during World War II.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed listening to music, dancing to Polkas, and was an avid reader of the Journal.
She is survived by her sons: William E. of Lorain, and Joseph C. of Galipolis Ferry, W. VA, daughter: Marcia E. Stahl, and Kathleen M. Dobis, both of Lorain, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, step-brother: Edward Klukovich; brother: Adelbert Charles in 1990; sister: Florence Longwell in 1998; and grandson, Kenneth Dobis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
