Felix M. "Fay" Pajor, 84, Navy Veteran
Felix M. "Fay" Pajor, age 84, of Elyria, died on Friday, January 19, 2001 at Ohio Veteran Home, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.Born on August 27, 1916 in Amherst, OH, he moved to Elyria 40 years ago.
He graduated from S. Amherst High School in 1934.
He served during World War II, in the United States Navy as a Shipfitter Second Class.
He worked as an assembler at Bendix Westinghouse, Elyria, for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. He was also an usher and councilman for St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1079 in Elyria, and St. Jude's Holy Name Society, Elyria.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Stella M. (nee Olenjniczak); daughter: Leona Sterbank, of Avon; son, Robert, of Wellington; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter J. and Theodora (nee Makruski) Pajor; brothers: Fred, Joseph, and Victor Pajor; and sisters, Emily Janowicz, Helen Skodney, and Irene Williams.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2001 from 3-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Visitation also at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, OH, from 9:15 a.m. until time of the mass at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2001. Rev. Fr. Patrick O'Connor, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Veterans services will by conducted by VFW Post 1079, Elyria.
