Helen S. Peery, 80, Dietary Aid

Helen S. Peery (nee Howell), age 80, died Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a lengthy illness.
She was born, July 12, 1920, in Harrison County, West Virginia, and moved to Lorain in 1946, and has been a resident of Elyria since 1957.
She attended Parkersburg High School, West Virginia. She was a Dietary Aid for Amherst Hospital for 4 years, retiring in 1978.
She enjoyed fishing and camping.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Edward; and sister Nora Gruber, of Lorain.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Masel (nee Jenkins) Howell; brother: Robert Howell; and sister: Joanne Williams.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2001, from 2-4 and 7-9, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Richard Henry, Jr., pastor of Amherst Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Avon.
