Elsie L. Anthony, 88, Teacher
Elsie L. (nee Tisdale) Anthony, 88, of Lorain died on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2001 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, OH.Mrs. Anthony was born on April 25, 1912 in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lorain.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School and Bowling Green State University with a four year degree to teach school. She was employed as a teacher with the Lorain City School System, teaching at Lakeview and Fairhome Elementary schools.
Mrs. Anthony was a member of the Penny Girls.
She is survived by her husband Merle Anthony of Lorain, a brother: Harold Tisdale of Lorain and serveral nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anthony is preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Pearl (nee Kneisel) Tisdale and a brother: Arthur Tisdale.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence & Boyer Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St., Lorain, Ohio on Monday, January 29, 2001 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon. Rev. Sprite Johnson, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate. Mrs. Anthony will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH.
