Frank E. Hartle, 67, Navy Veteran

Frank E. Hartle, Jr., age 67, died Friday, January 26, 2001 at EMH Regional Health Center following a sudden illness. Mr. Hartle lived most of his life in the Brownhelm Township area. A 1952 graduate of Brownhelm High School, he worked for BF Goodrich in Avon Lake as a supervisor in the color lab, retiring after 36 years.
He enjoyed gardening, golfing and traveling with his wife. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Robert F. Keller from 1952-1956.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, June (nee Woods) of Amherst; 5 step-sons, Eugene Keller of N. Ridgeville, Steve Keller of Grafton, Keith Keller of Manassas, Virginia, Darryl Keller of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Craig Keller of Strongsville; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Irene Cherney of Lorain and June Cherney of Vermilion; 2 brothers, Robert of Vermilion and Earl of Tucker, Georgia.
He was preceded-in-death by his parents, Frank and Helen Hartle, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4/6-8pm at Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St. Vermilion, where the Vermilion Veteran’s Council will conduct military honors at 7pm. Prayers will be said at 11:30am Tuesday at the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
