Jean Parsons, 60, Enjoyed Cooking
Jean Parsons (nee Crawford), age 60, of Lorain, died Thurdday, February 1, 2001, at Community Health Partners Hospital West, following a brief illness.She was born on May 31, 1940, in Lorain. She attended Lorain High School. She moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1965, returning to Lorain as a resident since 1983.
Jean was a Short-Order Cook in various restaurants in Detroit, and has been retired since 1982.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and friends.
She is survived by her son: Joseph Parsons, of Cleveland; 2 daughters: Michelle Goins, of Vermilion, and Gloria Brown, of Detroit, MI; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Hattie (nee Overstreet) Crawford; brothers: Thomas, James, Richard, Charles, Dick, Pecky, Herbert, and William Crawford; and sisters: Virginia Posey, Ella Fornety, and Jeanette Crawford.
The family will receive friends on Sundsay, February 4, 2001, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Friends may gather also for a graveside service at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, on Monday, February 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Walter Metter, of The Way Ministry, Vermilion, will officiate at the graveside.
