Lee Roy Wooten Sr., 53, Laborer

Lee Roy Wooten St., age 53, of Lorain, died Saturday, February 10, 2001, at Terrace View Nursing Home, Millersburg, OH following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 3, 1947, in Rown County, KY and has been a resident of Lorain for the past 48 years. He attended Clearview High School. He worked at Lorain Works U.S. Steel, in the Rolling Mills as a laborer for 17 years, retiring in 1981. There he was a member of United SteelWorkers Union, Local 1104.

Lee's hobbies included fishing, working on cars and caring for his children.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Roxanna Butcher, of Lorain; son, Lee R. Jr.; daughter, Sheryl Lankey, both of Lorain; one grandchild; 2 brothers, Chester and Glenn Wooten, both of Lorain; and 2 sisters: Dianna Trent and Mary Martinez, both of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Wooten, in 1986, and Murray (nee Staton) Wooten in 1989, and sister Marie Wooten in 1988.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., February 14, 2001 in Resthaven memory Gardens Mausoleum, Avon. Rev. John E. Jeffrey will officiate with interment to follow.
