William J. Podomnik, 69, Navy Veteran

William J. Podomnik, age 69, of Lorain, died on Saturday, February 10, 2001, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a brief illness.

He was born on August 11, 1931, in Homeville, Pennsylvania, moving to Lorain in 1953.

He served as a Yeoman Class A in the United States Navy. He worked as an office manager for RAK Corrosion Control Inc. in Amherst, retiring in 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte "Kitty" (nee Palagyi), son: William J., II, of Amherst, 2 daughters: Mary Teresa "Tina" Gregg and Jessica M. Paige, both of Amherst, 3 grandchildren, brother: John, of West Mifflin, PA, and sister: Margaret Rose, of Washington, PA., and his best friend, his dog, Ebon.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Stephen and Rose (nee Seech) Podomnik, and 3 brothers: Ernest, Steve and Alex.

Private family services were held yesterday, February 10, 2001 at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Military honors were conducted by the Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Proy, Chapter #20.

Friends may attend a memorial service on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at Above and Beyond Catering at EMH Health and Fitness Center, 1997 Health Way Drive, Avon, Ohio, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
