Clifford W. Wood Jr., 66 formerly of Lorain died on Thursday, March 1, 2001 at his home in Fremont, Ohio following a brief illness.Mr. Wood was born on October 21, 1934 in Cleveland Ohio and graduated from East High School in Cleveland. He also attended Lorain County Community College. He lived in Lorain until 2000 then moved to Fremont. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and US Navy. He was a member of the Espicopal Church of the Redeemer in Lorain, 25 year member of Charleston Masonic Lodge #702 F and AM and past Worthy Patron of the Queen City Chapter of Eastern Star #66.
Mr. Wood was retired from USG Interiors in Westlake as a shipper. He enjoyed target shooting and collected pistols.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Osborn) Wood, his six sons, Mark W. Wood of Johannesberg, West Germany, Michael A. Wood of Craig, CO, Robert E. Wood of Sheffield Lake, OH, Ronald M. Wood Olmstead Falls, OH, Steven Wood of Sheffield Lake, OH and Clifford W. Wood III of Sheffield Lake, OH, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his brother Donald G. Wood of Hinckley, OH and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Clarice (nee Keberdle) Wood SR and brother Richard Wood.
Friends may call at Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH on Friday March 3, 2001 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted by his lodge at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on March 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals in Lorain with Rev. Faye Grose, pastor of the Church of Our Savior in Salem, OH officiating. Full military burial honors will be provided by American Legion Post #30, Lorain.
Clifford W. Wood Jr., will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Burn Unit, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie PA, 16505.
