Archie B. Weaver, Jr., 84, of Lemitar, New Mexico, formerly of Avon Lake, passed away, Tuesday, March 6, 2001, peacefully at his home, following a prolonged illness.Mr. Weaver was born November 23, 1016 in Tiffin, Ohio and lived 48 years in the Lorain/Avon Lake areas. He had worked 38 years in the construction business.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Ohio IBEW Local 129, New Mexico IBEW Local 611, he was an Elder with the Socorro Presbyterian Church, Socorro, NM; a former trustee of the Avon Lake Untied Church of Christ and active with the Local 129 Retirees Group. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and gardening.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sara Louise (nee Grall), whom he married February 1, 1942. Other survivors include: daughters: Kathy (Dave) Arterburn of Lemitar, NM; Jean (Ray) of Albuquerque, NM; Ruth (Shuzo) Yokoyama of Syracuse, NY; sons: Ken (Judy) Waver of Avon and Allen (Denise) Weaver of Strongsville; sisters: Evelyn Weaver of Canton and Marian (Ben) Cutcher of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 24, 2001 at the Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Kelly Peters of the Church will officiate.
