Tom Stoyanoff, 74 of Lorain died Wednesday March 7, 2001 in Primm Valley, Nevada following a sudden illness.He was born August 3, 1926 in Pretor, Macedonia. He immigrated to Lackawanna, New York in 1938. He moved to Lorain in 1949.
Mr. Stoyanoff served in the Navy during World War II in the Atlantic.
Mr. Stoyanoff owned and operated the Amherst Sparkle Market for 31 years. He retired in 1988. He also owned and operated Kew Gardens in Lorain for 9 years until 1958.
He was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Lorain. He was also a president of the church committee.
Among the survivors is his wife of 54 years Zorka (nee Ylioff), sons Ronald Stoyanoff of Lorain and Richard Stoyanoff of Irvine California, 4 Grandchildren, sisters Rose Bonach and Kada Stoyanovich both of Lackawanna, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Trena (nee Stojanovski) Stoyanovich, his stepmother Sandra (nee Petrovski) Stoyanovich, a brother Christopher and sister Zora Jovanovski.
Friends may call Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Monday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Where Parastas service will be 7:30 P.M. Monday evening.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:30 A.M. in the Funeral Home followed 10:00 A.M. funeral service in Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, East 31st Street and Pearl Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Father Paul G. Monkowski, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
