Eleanore Ruth "Ellie" Paolini, 73, Kind and Generous Lady
Eleanore Ruth "Ellie" Paolini, 73, of Avon Lake passed quietly from this life on the morning of March 19, 2001, due to heart failure. She was born April 28, 1927 in Cleveland. Originally a Cleveland girl and a graduate of Collinwood High School, Ellie and her husband Frank raised their family in Willoughby, Ohio. The family moved to Avon Lake in 1969 after living in the Chicago suburbs for five years.
Ellie was a kind and generous lady who opened her home to relatives, friends and the friends of her children for more than 30 years. During those years in Avon Lake, she bowled weekly with the gals at Aqua Marine and Shoreway Lanes, did her "workouts" at the gym and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Michigan trying her luck playing the slots. Ellie was also a member of the Transylvania Saxon Lodge, Cleveland. She enjoyed having friends over to have a cup of coffee in the kitchen or to share stories on the phone about activities of kids and grandkids. And even though she made a lot of necessary visits to the doctors' offices, she didn't like a one of them! We thank all of her friends who came into her life and shared stories of their family with Ellie. Those little things were important to her and hopefully you. From our parents we learned the values of kindness, generosity and having an open door. Many people came through that open door and we've had better lives because of it. No we need to continue what we learned most form our parents, the value of friendship.
Mrs. Paolini is survived by a daughter, Pat Zembrycki of Avon Lake; a son, Frank Paolini (Cathy) of Ann Arbor, Michigan; three grandchildren, Katie Zembrycki, Andrew and Lauren Paolini. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, a sister Agnes Staimpel and her parents, Fred and Agnes (nee Drotleff) Salman.
