Dorothy M. Faris, 94, Homemaker

Dorothy M. Faris (nee Mcgue) age 94, died on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a short illness.
She was born on October 5, 1906 in Berea, Ohio. Her parents moved to Lorain shortly after her birth. Graduating from Lorain High School in 1925, She married Ralph Faris in 1930 and devoted her life to her family and friends. She was employed at Middendorf Pharmacy, Lorain for 8 years.
Dorothy was a member of Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, Lorain. She was also a member of Lakeland Women's Club, Salvation Army Garfield Senior Center, Church Women's Friendship Group, Steel City Grandmother's Club and Lorain Golden Age Group. She also was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital for over 23 years. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to 2 bridge clubs.
She is survived in death by her son: Kelly Faris (Martha), Put-In-Bay, Ohio, 2 daughters: Sally Widder, of Marysville, Ohio and Sherry (Roy) Huston, of Hudson, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one brother: Earle McGue of Ocala, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Ralph W. "BEP" in 1968, parents: Michael and Mary Jane (nee Parker) McGue, 3 brothers: Harry, Ralph, and James, 3 sisters: June McGue, Frances Gibbons, Ruth Flemings, son-in-law: Charles R. Widder, and grandson: Richard Duane Widder.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2001 at 11:00a.m. at Christian Temple, 940 West 5th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Bradley J. Donahue will officiate. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, handled the arrangement. There was no visitation.
