Joseph J. Carocci, 85, Ford Motor Company Supervisor
Joseph J. Carocci, age 85, of Lorain, died Saturday, April 7, 2001 in the emergency room of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, after being stricken with an apparent heart attack.Mr. Carocci was born March 19, 1916 in Buffalo, NY and had been a resident of Lorain, since 1958. A world War II veteran of the United States Army, he was employed as a supervisor on the passenger car line of Ford Motor Company's Lorain Assembly Plant. He retired in 1970 following 32 years of service with the company.
A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (Lorain), he was an avid baseball fan who also enjoyed basketball.
He is survived by her wife of 60 years; Lucy (nee Caldonia), daughters: Carol Karhusz and Rose Marie Koscho both of Lorain, Mary Lou Madaras of Avon Lake, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brothers, Dan, Sam and Tony all of Buffalo and a sister Angie Croce also of Buffalo.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Guiseppe and Rosina (nee Trubia) and by a brother, James.
Friends may call Monday, April 09, 2001, from 5-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shirmo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 10, 2001 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by his funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Regis Schlagheck, pastor of the church will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
