Willard Alfred McGinnis, 97, Machinist

Mr. McGinnis was born December 12, 1903 in Carter County, Kentucky.

He had worked as a machinist for AC Delco Sparks Plugs/General Motors in Flynt, MI for 14 years. During his retirement he returned to Portsmouth where he purchased 2 acres of property and started a fruit orchard, a hobby in which he had always found great pleasure. He enjoyed singing.

Mr. McGinnis is survived by a daughter Virginia Shaw of Avon, Oh; 2 granddaughters, Sharon Lanz of Sheffield Lake and Carol Patsko of Avon. He is survived by 4 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Velma (nee Millicint), and parents, George and Etta (nee Jordan) McGinnis.

Friends may call at the Melcher Funeral Home, 1417 Offnere Street, Portsmouth, OH on Sunday, April 22, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services at the New Boston First Church of God will be on Monday, April 23, 2001 at 11:00 a.m.
