Salvadore S. Sestili, 79, Concrete Finisher

Salvadore S. Sestili, 79 of Lorain died following a brief illness, on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Ohio Extended Care Center in Lorain.

Mr. Sestili was born on April 25, 1921 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1940B and a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain, Senior Fellowship and the Amvets.

He previously had been employed at US Steel, was a partner in Tony Perisi Construction Co., then owned and operated Jiffy Dry Cleaners in Lorain and retired as a concrete finisher with Brandt Construction Co.

Mr. Sestili enjoyed gardening and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Marie A. (nee Perisi) Sestili to whom he was married on August 9, 1947, his daughter: Rebecca A. McDermott of Ann Arbor MI, his son, Michael Sestili of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, his sisters: Rose Calzone and Florence Sestili of Cleveland, and his brother Eugene Sestili of Amherst.

Mr. Sestili is preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Henrietta (nee Celami) Sestili and his sister: Jacunda Varady and brother: Joseph Sestili.

Friends may call at Schwart-Spence and Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Sunday, April 15, 2001 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 9:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 308 W. 8th Street, Lorain. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
