William Raymond Ridenour, Jr., 76, instrumetn Repairman

William Raymond Ridenour, Jr., 76, of Elyria and formerly of Lorain died Saturday, April 14, 2001 at his residence.

Mr. Ridenour was born July 18, 1924 in Lorain and was a life long resident of the area.

Mr. Ridenour served in the U.S. Army Air Corp for 4 years, and the U.S. Navy for 6 years, during World War II, and the Korean War and he was also a part of the Berlin Air Lift.

Mr. Ridenour retired in 1983 after 32 years as an instrument repairman at U.S. Steel in Lorain.

He was an honorary member of the U.S. Steelworkers of America.

Survivors include 4 daughters: Mary Margaret Buell of Fairport NY, Rita Anne Maruschak of Kissimmee, FL, Jill Ellen Sprinkle of Elyria and Elisa Marie Abbott of Kissimmee, FL, 8 grandchildren, sisters: Bessie Minnick, Charlene Milovich and Margaret Brown, Brother: Clee Ridenour, cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie C. (nee Cahill) Ridenour, February 11, 1983, his parents William Raymond Sr. and Dille (nee Heishmann) Ridenour, sisters: Ameda Koscoa, Mildred Toth and Patsy Repko, and brothers Virgil Ridenour, Richard Ridenour and Ted Simon.

Friends may call at Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 from 4-8 p.m. where a Christian Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Elmer, Associate Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain officiating.

Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #451, Lorain.
