Anna Rusine (Rusinko), 88, Republican Party Judge

Anna Rusine a.k.a. Ruskino, (nee Naymik), age 88, of Lorain died Monday, April 16, 2001 at Ohio Extended Care Nursing Home in Lorain after a lengthy illness. She was born August 30, 1912 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Rusine attended Lorain schools. She worked at her husband's store, the former Rusine Men's Shop at 926 Broadway Ave. in Lorain from 1938 to 1969. She was also a Republican Party Judge in Lorain's voting booth in the 3rd district from 1960 to 1984. Mrs. Rusine was a member of the Greek Catholic Union. An avid New York Yankee baseball fan, she also enjoyed baking, crocheting, and tending to her vegetable and flower garden.

She is survived by son: Randolph John "Randy" Rusine (Rusinko) of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years: John Charles "Jake" Rusine (Rusinko) in 1998; father, Steven Naymik in 1916; mother: Helen (nee Kormos) in 1973; step-father: John Geryak in 1972; sister, Helen Naymik in 1915; brother, Joseph B. Naymik in 1985; step-brother Peter J. Gerrick in 1979; half-brother: Andrew Ivan Gerrick in 1990.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township. The Rev. Basil Stoyka, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Lorain will officiate.

Arrangements are being handled by the Gluvna-Shirmo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
