Gertrude M. Schaefer, 90, Homemaker

Mrs. Schaefer was born May 21, 1910 in Cleveland and moved to Avon as a child. She had lived in Avon Lake for the past 14 years.

Mrs. Schaefer was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Westlake; she had worked for a time at Our Lady of Wayside. She enjoyed vegetable and flowers gardening and collected salt and pepper shakers.

Her husband the late Robert N. Schaefer whom she married December 25, 1936 passed away June 10, 1966. She is survived by sons Robert G. (Jackie) of Avon Lake, John N. (the late Delores) of Avon Lake, David (Kathy) of Avon lake and a daughter Sharon (Kenneth) Jelen of Avon. Other survivors include 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, a brother Norman Westerfeld of Westlake, and a sister Marie Lamvermeyer of Alexandria OH. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by a sons James, brothers, Gilbert, Leonard and John and her parents, John and Anna (nee Guelker) Westerfeld.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon -Beldon Road, Avon lake, from 2-4 and d7-9 p.m. on Sunday April 22, 2001. All services will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road, Westlake on Monday, April 23, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Paul Church's Cemetery.
