Reynaldo Alameda, 73, Ford Motor Co. Foundry

Reynaldo Alameda, age 73, of Lorain, died on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

Born on January 6, 1928 in Lares, Puerto Rico, he moved to Lorain in 1951.

He was employed at the Foundry of Ford Motor Company, BrookPark, retiring in 1981 after 30 years of service.

Reynaldo was a member of the Iglesia Christiana Pentecostal, Lorain, where he was an active member.

He also was a member of United Auto Workers Local #1250. He enjoyed working on his car, around the house and enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria (nee Maldonaldo), sons: Jose of Hollywood FL, and Joel of Lorain, daughters: Elba Velez, of Lorain and Hilda Sharp, of Cleveland and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose M. and Maria Belen (nee Arroyo) Alemeda: brothers: Delores Alameda and Angel Cardona; and sister Otilia Cardona.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Christina Pentecostal, 301 W. 22nd Street, Lorain. Pastor Luis Cintron will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
