Robert A. Allen, 76, Painting Contractor Estimator

Mr. Allen was born November 23, 1924 in Fairview Park and had lived in Sheffield Lake prior to moving to Berea, 2 � years ago.

Mr. Allen worked for 27 years for the Frank Novak and Sons Company as a Painting Contractor Estimator for 17 yeas prior to that he was self employed owning Robert Decoration Company. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran serving as a Flight Officer at Lubbock Army Airfield, Lubbock, TX and a graduate of Fairview Park High School in 1943. Mr. Allen was a founding member of the Unity Church of the Cross Roads, Berea, also a member of the Sheffield Lake Kiwanis Club and Sheffield Lake Jaycees. He enjoyed Sports of all kinds as well as Music, Theatre and Art.

His wife of 40 years, the late Laura Marie (nee Hamilton), passed away in 1985. He is survived by sons William of Elyria and Greg of Berea and a daughter Kathy Grant of Hollywood, FL. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister Arlene Hall of Marietta, GA. Besides his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Erma (nee Baumeister) Allen.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon, on Thursday, May 3, 2001 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 8:30 p.m. Pastor Fred Wright of the Cross Roads Unity Church, Berea will officiate. Interment will be private in Resthaven Memory Garden.
