Theresa M. Lupe, 78, Lifelong Resident
Theresa M. Lupe (nee: Rich), 78 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Thursday morning May 10, 2001 at Ohio Extended Care following a four month illness.She was born October 27, 1922 in Amherst. She has been a lifetime resident of South Amherst.
She was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary catholic Church, South Amherst and served for many years in the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include her son, Gareth J. Lupe of Avon Lake; her daughter Mrs. Ron (Michelle) Winiarski of South Amherst; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister Virginia Palcich of Fort Myers, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Benny Lupe on April 30, 1998; her parents Joseph and Lena (nee Taddeo) Rich; two grandchildren, Laurie and Brent; and by her brother, Samuel Rich.
Friends may call Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.; Amherst. Closing prayers will be held Monday at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. with a Christian Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. from Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; 333 South Lake St., South Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Edward Kordas, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
