Nan Heinowski Emmerich, 73, Retired Kindergarten Teacher

Nan Heinowski Emmerich, 73 (nee Macgregor) died on Thursday, May 22, 2001 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, OH following a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 28, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI moving to the Lorain area in the early 1940's. She also lived in the Amherst area for 25 years. She was a graduate of Kent State University with a masters degree and a member of Alpha Xi Delta. She was a member of the First Church of Christian Scientist of Lorain.

Mrs. Emmerich was a retired kindergarten teacher in the Lorain City Schools with 25 years of service. She enjoyed farming, traveling and her church work.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Claubaugh of Amherst, her two sons, Maynard Emmerich of Amherst, OH and Steve Heinowski of Oberlin, OH, 4 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, her brothers Dave Macgregor of Lorain, OH and Jim Macgregor of Stevenson, VA, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Emmerich is preceded in death by her parents Carol and Helen (nee Hewitt) Macgregor.

Friends may call at Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Friday, May 25, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until noon and 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held on May 26, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 44805 North Ridge Road in Amherst Township, OH.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Protective League of Lorain County, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
