Joseph J. Carmon, 85, Welder
Joseph J. Carmon, 85, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 in the emergency room at Community health Partners in Lorain. He was born on October 22, 1915 in Lorain. He lived in Avon Lake for 25 years before moving back to Lorain 23 years ago.Mr. Carmon worked as a welder from The Shovel Company before retiring in 1978 after 33 years. Before that he worked at American Ship Building in Lorain and US Steel. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Carmon (nee Forster); son Kenneth Carmon of Bloomville, OH; daughter Pamela Aufdenkampe of Avon, OH; 2 grandchildren; and a brother Jacob Carmon of Elyria, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Carmon; brothers: William
Lawrence and Henry Carmon; and sisters: Elizabeth Splain and Elsie Alten.
Friends may visit Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at 9:30 a.m. There will be prayers at the funeral home followed by Mass in the Church of St. Peter in Lorain with Fr. Kenneth J. Wolnowski officiating. Burial will be at the St. Theresa Cemetery in Sheffield. The family suggests contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 43099 N.
