Donald E. Shawver, 63, Engineer Design Technician

He was born February 6, 1938 in Lorain, OH and lived in Lorain all of his life. He was a graduate of Lorain High School. Mr. Shawver was a member of F.O.E. Amherst #1442 and formerly a member of the All Nations Club. He was an engineer design technician retiring from Lorain Products, a.k.a. Marconi Communications after 35 years of service.

He enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping and volleyball.

Mr. Shawver is survived by his wife Jeannene J. (nee Minnich) Shawver, his daughter: Gina Knarich of Oberlin, his son: Richard Contratto living in California, his step-daughters: Geraldine Arquillo, Laura Hernandez, and Joyce Tavenner, step-son: Robin Cantrell all of Lorain, 8 grandchildren, his sisters: Catherine Gronewold of Chicago, IL, Janelle Akers, of Crandall, TX and a brother: Robert Shawver of Toledo, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Pauline (nee Mason) Shawver.

Friends may call at Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH on Friday, June 8, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2001 at 8:30 p.m. at Schwartz-Spence & Boyer Home for Funerals in Lorain, OH, with Rev. Jack R. Ison, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain, officiating.

Donald E. Shawver will be buried in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, OH.
