Dale Glenn Greathouse, 87, Enjoyed Hunting and Gardening
Dale Glenn Greathouse, 87, of Bath, formerly of the Sheffield Lake and Lorain areas died Thursday, June 14 at his son's home following a lengthy illness. He was born January 9, 1914 in Masontown, West Virginia and moved to Bath from Sheffield Lake five years ago. He was employed as a coal miner in West Virginia and then worked at Fruehof Trailer in Avon Lake before retiring from Lorain Products 25 years ago. He attended Broadway Assembly, Lorain and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Dale enjoyed hunting and gardening.Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Margaret S. (nee Jeffery); two sons: Harold Greathouse (Mary) of Apopka, Florida and Terry Greathouse (Nancy) of Bath; daughter, Carolyn Brown (Ron) of Avon Lake; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and brothers: Kermit Greathouse of Kingwood, West Virginia and Bernard Greathouse of Morgantown, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Greathouse, three brothers, four sisters and his parents: William R. and Cora Virginia (nee Rogers) Greathouse.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001. Services will be at Broadway Assembly, 5495 Broadway, Lorain, Monday, June 18, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Mark Lance will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
