Howard Earl Pierce II, 45, Enjoyed Golfing and Camping
Howard Earl Pierce II, age 45, of Lorain, died on Saturday, June 16, 2001 at his residence following a sudden illness.Born on March 31, 1956 in Lorain, he had lived here his entire life. He attended Lorain High School. He had served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, having received the rifle marksmanship badge and pistol marksmanship badge and the good conduct medal.
He had worked for the Majzun Construction Company in Lorain as a laborer. Prior to that, he had worked for Certified Auto and Truck Repair in Lorain. He also had worked for Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, Lorain, as an office manager for 2 1/2 years and at US Steel as a crane operator for 3 years.
He enjoyed golfing, computers, the outdoors and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years: Barbara (nee Kalliszewski), sons: Howard E. Pierce III, Brian E. Pierce, both of Lorain; a daughter: Jennifer L. Pierce of Lorain; a grandson; brothers: David Pierce of Lorain, Phillip Pierce of Hollywood, FL, Daniel Pierce of Edmond, OK; and a sister: Rebecca Bainter of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Howard Pierce in 1967 and his mother, Virginia (nee Seigler), in 2000 and a brother, Paul, in 1993.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Chris Hughes, pastor of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #451 of Lorain will conduct full military honors.
