Ragna "Betty" Farr, 91, Seamstress
Ragna "Betty" (nee Elfstrom) Dobras Farr, 91of Lorain died on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain after a short illness.Mrs. Farr was born on March 1, 1910 in Ljusne, Sweden moving to Lorain in 1926.
She was extremely proud of her Swedish Heritage and her American Citizenship.
Mrs. Farr was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Lorain, Gustavasa Lodge and in 1963 served as past Worthy matron of Queen City Chapter #66 of Eastern Star. She was famous in her family for her cooking, gardening and sewing skills.
She is survived by her sons Bruce Dobras of Birmingham, MI and Darryl Dobras of Vermilion, OH; step-daughter, Marsha Griffin of San Diego, CA; step-sons Dwight Farr of Wellington, OH, and Roger Farr of Amherst, OH; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Farr is preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Dobras on August 3, 1966 her 2nd husband, Alvin Farr on September 15, 1993, her parents: Franz and Ellen (nee Hallgren) Elfstrom, and one brother.
Queen City Chapter #66 of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service on Saturday, June 30, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 432 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH 44052.
Memorial services will be held on June 30, 2001 at 11:0 0a.m. at the First Congregational Church with Dr. Rev. David Wheeler, pastor officiating.
Burial will be private in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township, OH.
