Richard Theodore Muenzenmayer, Sr., 82, Enjoyed Wood-Working

Richard Theodore Muenzenmayer, Sr., age 82, of Wooster and formerly of Avon Lake die Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at Wooster Hospital, Wooster, OH due to complications associated with congestive heart failure. He was born January 6, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Wooster from Texas where he lived for twenty years. He lives in Avon Lake from 1953-1972. He was a graduate of Parma High School and was employed as a plant manager for Kirby Vacuum Cleaners before retiring in 1984. He was involved in starting the first Boy Scout Troop in Avon Lake and enjoyed woodworking, sailing, camping, and traveling.

He is survived by two sons, Richard T. of Litchfield and Kenneth J. of Kingwood, Texas; a daughter Rosemary Odom of Vermilion; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a sister, Amelia Muenzenmayer of Parma. His wife, Marie Anna (nee Geel); a sister, Dorothy Christ; a great grandchild, Mathew Muenzenmayer and his parents Oscar Eugene and Rose Catherine (nee Wensko) Muenzenmayer preceded him in death.

Chapel services will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Road, Avon on Thursday, July 5, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. where burial will take place. Memorials may be forwarded to the American Cancer Society, 43099 N. Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. Arrangements handled by the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake.
